Where the money goes

Where Google Ads accounts quietly lose money.

A Google Ads account can hit every platform benchmark and still waste a large share of its budget. These are the six places we look first.

Search terms

Broad match with no guardrails

Broad keywords let Google decide what counts as relevant. Without tight negative keywords and regular search term reviews, budget drifts toward searches that were never going to buy.

Performance Max

Performance Max spending on your own brand

Searches for your brand name convert easily. A Performance Max campaign can look strong while mostly collecting people who were already looking for you.

Tracking

Tracking that counts the wrong actions

Page views, button clicks or duplicate form fires reported as conversions teach the algorithm to chase the wrong people.

Bidding

Smart bidding trained on weak signals

Automated bidding optimizes toward whatever you tell it counts. Feed it weak signals and it gets very efficient at finding weak leads.

Ads and pages

Ads that don’t match the page

The search ad promises one thing and the landing page says another. The click is paid for and the lead is lost.

Feedback loop

Leads that never come back as sales

If Google never learns which leads became customers, it cannot optimize for them. Sending CRM outcomes back to Google closes that loop.

How it fits

How Google Ads fits into the Adwella system.

Google captures demand that already exists: people searching for what you sell. Meta creates demand before people start searching. Most accounts need both, and neither performs well when tracking, landing pages and lead follow-up belong to someone else.

That is why we don’t sell Google Ads as a stand-alone package. It runs inside Adwella Lead Generation, where strategy, creative, landing pages, tracking and fast follow-up are handled by one team accountable for the result. The paid social side is covered on our Meta ads agency page.

Search

Campaigns for people ready to buy.

Performance Max

Run with brand controls and asset review.

YouTube and Demand Gen

Used for reach.

Local Services Ads

Used where they fit the business.

Your account is also watched by Adwella Sentinel, and AI and automation handles lead follow-up.

How we run it

How we run a Google Ads account.

01

Fix tracking first

We check that every conversion Google counts is a real lead, and connect your form, call and CRM data.

02

Rebuild the structure

Campaigns are organized around how your business makes money, not around how the account happened to grow.

03

Optimize every week

Search terms, bids, budgets and creative are reviewed weekly, not once a quarter.

04

Review monthly against leads and pipeline

The monthly review is about qualified leads and revenue, not impressions and clicks.

Fit

Who this is for.

A good fit if

  • You spend $10k+/month on paid advertising, or are ready to.
  • You want one team accountable from the click to the lead.
  • You would rather hear what is wrong with the account than be told everything is fine.

Not a fit if

  • Your ad spend is under $10k/month.
  • You want someone to tweak ad copy while tracking, pages and follow-up stay untouched.
  • You need a fixed date for results before the data exists.
Questions

Google Ads management questions

What does a Google Ads agency do?
It plans, builds and runs your Google Ads campaigns, and should also own the parts that decide whether they work: conversion tracking, landing pages and lead follow-up. At Adwella that is all part of one system.
What does Google Ads management cost?
Management fees depend on scope. We work with accounts spending $10k+/month and share pricing on a short call once we know your goal.
Do you manage Performance Max?
Yes. We set brand controls, review assets and check where the budget actually goes. In each account we decide whether Performance Max earns its place next to Search.
Who owns the ad account?
You own the ad accounts and the ad spend relationship with Google and Meta, always. Landing pages, tracking configuration, CRM structure and creative are built on Adwella infrastructure while we work together, and are documented and handed to you if you leave. This is a real switching cost, and we would rather you know it now.
Can you work alongside our current agency?
Yes, on one condition: it runs on a new ad account built from scratch, separate from the one your current agency or team manages. That gives you a clean setup and a fair side-by-side comparison. The trade-off is no historical data on day one.
Is there a contract?
An initial 90 days, then month to month with 30 days’ notice. Ninety days is roughly how long paid campaigns need to produce data worth judging.
How long until we see results?
The first weeks go to tracking and structure, so the data can be trusted. Most accounts need around 90 days before a pattern is worth judging. We won’t promise a date for results.
